Master of Science - Management with Sustainability
The MSc Management is designed to provide students with a multidisciplinary approach to management. Upon graduation, students will be equipped with the personal and professional skills needed to be competent and successful managers in modern businesses. Many graduates go onto work as senior managers for governments, charities, and large international/multinational organizations including the NHS, PwC and Amazon.
Students will develop a strong foundation of understanding of the role of management and its implementation across different industries. From developing an understanding of the role of management in the wider international economy, to the responsibilities of management to society, sustainability, and the planet, they’ll explore management from a range of perspectives.
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important to businesses as consumers become more conscious of their impact on the environment. Businesses are required to balance the need for transparency in the choices they make, while considering the needs of the business.
Throughout the course, students will explore the key challenges of sustainable decision-making and the importance of managing relationships with communities, society and the environment. They'll learn to bring together a range of business practices, knowledge and skills, and apply them to develop sustainable business activities.
A large proportion of the University's academic staff began their training as professional accountants, lawyers, project managers, human resource managers and economists. Their experience from a range of business disciplines builds the foundations of the supportive, engaging and diverse environment within Hertfordshire Business School. Additionally, many of the academics are doctorally qualified and research active.
Learners will cover the basics of a range of core managements skills and disciplines. The breadth of areas studied will give them highly transferable skills, relevant to most work environments, which will enable them to become an effective employee or a future entrepreneur.
Students will have the opportunity to undertake an Integrated Research Project with the support of a range of staff. They can also benefit from the University's industry connections with local organizations, including Ocado, Tesco, and Amazon. Many local business organizations are amongst the biggest in the country and contribute to the programme as guest lecturers and attend careers fairs for students.
Lastly, students will explore business culture and learn many of the fundamentals of managing a business in areas such as digital marketing, accounting, people management, strategy, technology, logistics, and more.

Applicants interested in applying for direct admission, but are yet to complete an acceptable language test, can do so, but must provide valid results before receiving a final offer letter.
