IT Entertainment
As internet connectivity, speed, and accessibility become increasingly widespread worldwide, digital entertainment is similarly shifting to the internet as the primary means of distribution, as well as storage, promotion, ownership, and production. Modern entertainment, including film, television, music, games, live streaming, smartphones, and extended reality (XR) content, all rely more than ever on the development, maintenance, and evolution of the supporting IT infrastructure. This trend will intensify as entertainment production companies turn to AI-powered cloud computing to deliver new experiences, including real-time performances both over the internet and live. A new talent pool is needed, with a deep understanding of both the IT that supports this infrastructure and the methods for producing and delivering entertainment content itself. The IT Entertainment specialization provides students with the knowledge they need to develop a new career focused on the entertainment production process, with a particular focus on games and video entertainment, within the context of the industry 's IT/ICT/data infrastructure requirements, needs, and evolving technologies
